My Unforgettable Encounter with Bangkok Pride 2025

I arrived in Bangkok, eager to explore the city’s famous temples and bustling markets. Little did I know, I’d stumbled into one of the most significant events on the LGBTQIAN+ calendar. From May 30 to June 1, 2025, the city lit up with rainbow colors and energy like never before.

The atmosphere was electric. Every corner of the city, especially around Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Square One, and Lido Connect, seemed to be celebrating. The theme, “Born This Way,” resonated deeply, a powerful affirmation of identity that echoed through the streets.

The Parade Flows Like a Rainbow River Through the City

The highlight was undoubtedly the Bangkok Pride Parade 2025 on June 1st. Starting from National Stadium and flowing all the way to Ratchaprasong Intersection, it was more than just a march; it was a spectacle. Imagine a 200-meter-long rainbow flag undulating through the heart of the city, accompanied by an estimated 300,000 participants!

The parade was ingeniously organized into seven vibrant sections, each representing a different facet of the LGBTQIAN+ identity:

  • Born Again: A powerful testament to the “rebirth” of hidden identities.
  • Born to Be Loved (Red): Celebrating the power of love and the monumental achievement of marriage equality.
  • Born to Be Me (Purple): A beautiful message of self-love and pride in one’s true self.
  • Born to Be Part of One (Green): Emphasizing the deep connection between humanity, the environment, society, and the world.
  • Born to Create & Inspire (Yellow): A vibrant tribute to the artistic and cultural contributions of the LGBTQIAN+ community.
  • Born to Heal Generations (Blue): Highlighting healing and equal access to healthcare.
  • Born to Be Together (Pink): Showcasing a special collaboration with Chulalongkorn University, adding an academic touch to the celebration.

It was a comprehensive festival packed with insightful events:

  • Siam Center: Galaxy of Love: Throughout the entire month of June, Siam Center hosted a beautiful exhibition and other activities, adding an artistic touch to the festivities.

United Effort Toward a Brighter Future

What truly struck me was the sheer scale of collaboration. This wasn’t just a grassroots movement; it had significant backing from all sectors. The Prime Minister, Khun Paetongtarn Shinawatra, opened the festival, signaling strong government support. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Governor Chadchart Sittipunt played crucial roles in facilitating the event.

Narumit Pride Co., Ltd., led by President Khun Annwa Chumaporn, did an incredible job organizing everything. Major private sector players like Siam Piwat Group (Siam Paragon, Siam Center) and Central Pattana (Central malls) provided key venues and support. It felt like the entire nation was embracing this moment.
