Why the “Kitchen of the World” Vision Matters
The “Kitchen of the World” goes beyond food exports. It boosts our entire economy. Thailand has clear strengths.
- Biodiversity is key. We have abundant, high-quality ingredients. Think fragrant jasmine rice. Consider our tropical fruits, like durian. Herbs and seafood also thrive here. They form the base of our unique dishes.
- Rich food heritage. Thai cuisine is world-renowned. Its balanced flavors are unique. Preparation is meticulous. Nutritional value is high. This makes it popular globally. Restaurants worldwide spread our food culture. This boosts demand for Thai products.
- Thai Soft Power is strong. Food is a powerful cultural tool. It enhances our image. It draws people to Thailand.
- Production potential is high. Thai farmers have long experience. Our food processing industry is modern. It meets global standards.

The Thai government is actively promoting the “Kitchen of the World.” Marketing and export strategies are in full swing.
- THAIFEX – Anuga Asia is a highlight. This is Asia’s largest food and beverage trade show. It happens annually. THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025 took place recently. It was held in late May 2025. The Commerce Minister presided. This event underlines Thailand’s role. We are a global food industry leader. Over 3,200 companies participated. They came from Thailand and 56 countries. Order values are expected to exceed 98 billion baht.
- “D-Promised Kitchen, Thai Food Soft Power, Delicious and Promising” event. The Ministry of Industry organized this. It showcases Thai food potential. Local ingredients are featured. They are adapted into unique regional dishes. This reinforces Thai Soft Power in food.
- Promoting Thai Food Culture Globally is a core mission. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues its work. This is part of the “Bua Kaew Unites, Drives Thai Kitchen to the World” initiative. Meetings with foreign representatives are ongoing. Trade, investment, and export discussions happen regularly. This expands the market for Thai food.
Cultivating Chefs and Innovation: Domestic Initiatives
Beyond exports, developing local talent and innovation is vital.

- Food Innovation Thailand is a priority. The National Innovation Agency (NIA) leads this. They launched “Thai Kitchen 2025: Crafted FoodTech Accelerator Program.” This seeks to revolutionize Thai cuisine. It fast-tracks FoodTech entrepreneurs. They offer up to 5 million baht in funding. They target three key groups. These are crafted local food, high-value Thai food and fruits, and future food. This includes plant-based proteins.
Expanding Global Reach: Driving Halal Food Thailand
To reach a larger consumer base, Halal Food Thailand is crucial. The government aims to make Thailand the ASEAN Halal Hub by 2027. A four-year action plan (2024-2027) is drafted.
